No Fail Icing
Why we love this basic icing recipe.

Made simply from icing sugar, a bit of butter and enough milk to bring it to the desired texture, this is the easiest of all icings and frostings.
To make it into a caramel icing – just add brown sugar and for chocolate – a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder.
Add a dash of vanilla and used to ice blueberry muffins, or add some pink colouring and a couple of drops of rosewater to ice these basic cupcakes.
Step 1
Using a wooden spoon, combine icing sugar, butter and milk in medium bowl until smooth. Add a touch of extra milk or water to get a glossier consistency.
Step 2
Add enough food colouring to tint icing to desired colour. Mix well.
Food Colouring Hint: If colouring this basic icing, it is better to use a food gel rather than a liquid. Gels provide a more intense colour and the liquid may make the icing too runny.
Your done. YUM!
